What is architectural lighting?
Architectural lighting is lighting designed into the building itself rather than added on top as decoration. It includes recessed downlights, linear profile lights, magnetic track lights, cove lighting, facade projectors and walkover lights — chosen for how they fit the space, not just how they look in a brochure.
What is magnetic track lighting?
Magnetic track lighting uses a low-voltage magnetic rail recessed into the ceiling. Compatible spotlights, pendants and linear modules attach magnetically and can be repositioned without rewiring. It is the fastest-growing architectural lighting category in Indian residential interiors thanks to its flexibility and clean ceiling lines.
What is the best lighting for a false ceiling?
For a false ceiling, layer three sources: recessed downlights for ambient light, linear profile or cove for soft fill, and magnetic track or focused spots for accent. Specify beam angles between 24°–60°, CRI 90+ for living spaces, and 3000–4000K colour temperature for warmth without yellowness.
What is CRI in lighting and why does it matter?
CRI (Colour Rendering Index) measures how accurately a light source renders colours compared to natural daylight, on a 0–100 scale.
